Jaap van der Velde is an Associate Principal Software Architect for BMT, with a background in software engineering and architecture and formal training in Computer Science. In recent years, he has been a member of the TUFLOW team, involved in projects taking TUFLOW Classic, HPC and FV to the cloud and improving software and development tooling.

Relevant skills and knowledge include Python, Rust, C, C++ as well as JavaScript and a minimal amount of Fortran. Jaap has infrastructure experience on both Windows and various Linux and BSD platforms and has recently been developing on the cloud, specifically on Azure and AWS.

Specific to TUFLOW, Jaap is likely to contribute to deployment, installation, scripting support, scaled operations, configuration and integration.
