Introduction

To visualise particles within the QGIS TUFLOW Viewer plugin, it is neccesary to ensure that QGIS version 3.14 or later is used. At the current time of writing, it is neccesary to undertake an advanced install of QGIS 3.14 using the instructions below to ensure the relevant NetCDF library is installed which allows the particle tracking Lagrangian outputs to be visualised.

QGIS Download

The first step is to download QGIS from this [[1]]. Within the Dowdnloa for Windows section, identify the QGIS in OSGeo4W options and select and download the OSGeo4W Network Installer (64 bit) as per the below image.

Once downloaded, run the OSGew4W Network Installer executable. In the first dialogue window choose to undertake an 'Advanced Install'

Choose a download source, most likely 'Install from Internet' and select the Root 'Install Directory', 'local package directory', 'internet connection' and 'download site'. Unless otherwise required these will most likely be kept as default settings. You will now reach the 'Select Packages' page as per the below image.

In the Search bar, type 'Netcdf4' and find the python3-netcdf4 library. Make sure you choose to install the python3-netcdf4 library as shown below as this is required to display the particles.

Click next and the packages will be downloaded, this may take a few minutes.
