Matt has a strong coastal engineering and marine science background with over ten years’ experience in research and environmental consulting. His particular expertise is in coastal hydrodynamics and sediment transport and has completed two postgraduate degrees in these fields.

Matt’s role at BMT WBM primarily involves applying numerical models to assess coastal processes on a regional or local scale. These assessments typically inform Shoreline Erosion Management Plans, Coastal Hazard Studies (storm surge and/or climate change adaptation), Environmental Impact Studies and the design of coastal structures.

Before joining BMT WBM in early 2010 Matt worked with WorleyParsons Services Pty Ltd. During this time he provided technical services to clients within the oil and gas, aluminium, uranium and water supply and treatment sectors with a particular focus on dredging and ocean outfall studies.
